Kevin Cumley is director of the Sage Intacct accountants program where he is responsible for managing the BPO/outsourcing channel in partnership with CPA.com (an AICPA company). He started his career in public accounting during the 1980s implementing the first generation of PC-based accounting systems for small to midsized organizations. Cumley then founded and was president of Forepoint, an award-winning reseller of accounting software, which over the next 20 years became one of the largest and most successful VAR’s in North America and was consistently ranked as a Top 100 firm. For several years prior to joining Sage Intacct he was an executive with Abila developing and building programs for channel partners and the CPA industry.

Cumley has over 30 years of experience in the technology industry providing ERP, CRM and HRMS solutions to small and midsized companies and is recognized as a leading expert in outsourced accounting using cloud financial solutions. He was also a founding member of the Information Technology Alliance, where he served on the Board of Directors and was board chair, along with being instrumental in developing several key initiatives while there including the project management and leadership development programs.

Cumley is a regular speaker at industry conferences and has delivered presentations on a wide variety of topics including cloud solutions, outsourced accounting, mergers and acquisitions, project management, technology trends, process improvement, and business development.

Bill Curtis, CPA, is partner-in-charge of the Birmingham office of Mauldin & Jenkins CPAs & Advisors and leads the firm’s efforts in Alabama. He joined Mauldin & Jenkins in 2004, after working for AmSouth Bank and Cade and Associates. He has over 15 years of auditing and consulting experience. As a partner in the firm’s Financial Institutions practice, Curtis specializes in opinion audits and tax services for private as well as SEC registered companies, internal control opinion audits, and internal audits, and benefit plan audits. In addition to serving his financial institution clients, Curtis is responsible for auditing numerous 401(k) and employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs). He serves on the firm’s Leadership and Career Development Committee and LEAP Conference Committee. Curtis is a CPA in the states of Alabama and Georgia. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Alabama Society of CPAs, the Georgia Society of CPAs, Birmingham Young CPAs, Alabama Banking School faculty, and he serves on the board of directors for Community Kitchens of Birmingham.

Shari Dodgen is the Director of Strategic Relationships and Product Marketing for Mid/large firms at Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting North America. She is responsible for defining the overall product marketing strategy for the company’s award-winning professional software products, as well as building and expanding strategic relationships with professional associations and accounting organizations to drive increased value to individual firms.

In addition to her 12 years as publisher of Cygnus Business Media’s CPA Technology Advisor, Shari has extensive experience developing integrated custom media programs and expertise in business-to-business communications, including strategic planning, partnership development, program execution, marketing and sales.
