Steve Karp has nearly 20 years of payments industry, management consulting, and investment banking experience. He is currently a Senior Vice President in the Enterprise Payments Strategy Group at SunTrust Bank, where he partners with executive leadership across various customer, product, and channel segments to develop and execute payment-related strategies. His areas of focus include debit and prepaid cards, ATM channel management, online alternative payments, and underbanked strategies. Prior to joining SunTrust in January 2008, Steve was a Manager at Edgar, Dunn & Co., a global payments industry consulting firm. While at EDC, he worked with and developed strategies for leading companies in the credit card, bill payment, electronic funds transfer, and mobile banking industries. Prior to EDC, Steve was Co-Founder and Executive Vice President of Allpoint, the largest surcharge-free ATM network in the United States. He led the networks operations, financial reporting and budgeting, strategic planning, legal, and administrative functions. Steve also was part of the executive management team responsible for raising capital and guiding Allpoint from start-up through its successful sale in December 2005 to Cardtronics. Prior to Allpoint, Steve held a senior management position in the electronic banking practice of First Annapolis Consulting. While at First Annapolis, Steve worked extensively in developing detailed financial models and analytical frameworks to assist credit card issuers in evaluating alternative account acquisition and portfolio management strategies, as well as analyzing customer segmentation and profitability data. In addition, Steve has held investment banking and consulting positions at Friedman, Billings, Ramsey and ICF Consulting, respectively.
Stefan Happ is General Manager of Online and Mobile North America at American Express. In this role, Stefan has responsibility for partner and client management, marketing and merchant acquisition for new online and mobile payment capabilities and services, including Serve, the company's next generation payments platform.Previously, Stefan served as SVP and GM of the Americas in the company's prepaid business, leading the dramatic growth of the American Express Gift Card and Reward Card franchises in the United States and Canada. He has also spearheaded the company's introduction of the ground-breaking family of reloadable prepaid cards, both through the American Express E-commerce channel and through numerous distribution partnerships. Since joining American Express in 1997, Mr. Happ has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility in reengineering, product development, and sales & marketing in the American Express Consumer, Corporate and Prepaid Card businesses.Prior to American Express, Mr. Happ spent a number of years in various marketing and operational roles at British Airways across the globe. CRAIG PATERSON has been Vice President Business Process Outsourcing Management since August 2012. He is responsible for developing the compliance processes for third party vendors for the credit and servicing areas of the business. Previously, he served as Vice President Loss Recovery from 2005 to 2012; Vice President Funding from 2004 to 2005; Vice President Collections from 2001 to 2004; and, Assistant Vice President Collections from 2000 to 2001. Prior to joining GM Financial, Craig had 16 years of experience with other auto finance companies. Craig is a member of ACA International and the Debt Buyers Association (DBA) and served as a panelist at the Collection and Recovery Symposium. He earned his Bachelor of Administration in General Business from Bowling Green State University.
