Jonathan Jaffe is a partner in the San Francisco, California office of K&L Gates, where he has a state and national practice concentrating in matters relating to consumer and commercial finance, financial services, real estate, technology and general corporate law. He has served as in-house General Counsel of a national mortgage banking firm headquartered in California and as in-house Senior Counsel of two savings associations and a savings and loan holding company. Sternberg is responsible for managing the strategic direction of Excellen REO, overseeing day-to-day operations, creating policies and procedures and establishing the internal growth strategy. Sternberg brings almost 40 years of experience in asset preservation, management and liquidation to Excellen REO. He is the former senior vice president of the REO department for American Home Loan Servicing, Inc. In this position Sternberg managed more than 200 employees and 33,000 assets. His duties included writing policies and procedures, creating a marketing program, hiring, managing the sales teams and representing the organization at industry conferences. During his tenure, Sternberg increased income and profitability by more than 400 percent in eight months. During his career, Sternberg also managed the REO department of one of the nations largest home loan lenders, Indymac Bank FSB, as the first vice president of home loan servicing and REO. Additionally, Sternbergs former positions include national REO manager of Ocwen Federal Bank FSB, president of Virginia Commonwealth Realty and senior vice president of American Family Homes. Sternberg earned a bachelors degree from the University of Virginia. He is the former vice president of the Virginia Association of Realtors and past director of the National Association of Realtors. Kathy Mehringer, licensed since 1977, is a Real Estate Broker. She is a Mediator, certified through the Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolution in association with the Pepperdine University School of Law. Kathy is an Arbitrator for the California Association of Realtors (C.A.R.) and holds the coveted designation of CRB. Formerly an instructor for the Graduate Realtor Institute (G.R.I.) she taught Agency Law and Ethics and is a certified Continuing Education Instructor for both California and Arizona Departments of Real Estate. Pamela Rosenhouse is the Regional Area Manager for Southern California and Southern Nevada. Richard W. Koch is a Senior Vice President in the newly created Operational risk Assessment Group at Realpoint, a Morningstar Company. His responsibilities include the analysis and ranking of residential mortgage and consumer loan servicing entities. Richard is responsible for evaluating a diverse group of servicers including conforming, nonprime, subordinate lien, reverse mortgage, master servicing and special servicing entities in addition to component servicers and third party industry vendors. Richard is also responsible for the development and publication of residential servicing criteria. As a Director in Standard & Poors Servicer Evaluation unit from 1997--]2011, Richard published the first Australian servicer reviews in 1999 and played a key role in the development of servicer rankings in Europe and Japan. In 2002, Richard developed and implemented SEAM (Servicer Evaluation Analytical Methodology), a web--based database for collecting and analyzing a wide variety of servicer performance metrics. SEAM provided a framework for performing periodic surveillance on servicers as well as a basis for recalibrating servicer criteria and identifying industry trends in real time. Richard developed peer and industry benchmarking products for the residential servicing industry as well as writing and publishing an in--depth analysis of residential servicer performance metrics on a semi--annual basis known as the Industry Spotlight Report. Richard is a frequent speaker and moderator on mortgage industry panels discussing current trends and topical issues in the mortgage servicing industry. Richard has authored numerous articles on topics ranging from the role of special servicers and offshore outsourcing to the robo-signing crisis. Prior to joining Standard & Poors in 1997, Richard held a management position with the RTC (Resolution Trust Corp.), overseeing the loan administration and asset disposition functions of a savings and loan in receivership. As an officer at Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corp. (HSBC), he developed and implemented a successful mortgage and consumer loan servicing program, and as an Assistant Vice President at National Westminster Bank USA (NatWest), he managed the loan administration group.
