Latest NewsLinda Shelton is presently the Executive Director and a Trustee of The Joyce Theater Foundation, Inc, a position she has held since 1993. Prior to her current position, she served as General Manager of The Joffrey Ballet. Before The Joffrey, she managed tours for the Bolshoi Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet Academy, Moscow Virtuosi, 1000 Airplanes on the Roof and Sankai Juku. From 1982 1988, she held management positions at The Twyla Tharp Dance Foundation. Ms. Shelton began her work in the dance field as an intern at the New York State Council on the Arts Dance Program. She holds a B.A. degree in Dance Education from New York University and has completed work towards her Masters in Arts Administration, also at New York University. A Dance/USA Board member for over ten years, Ms. Shelton served as Chair from 2000-2002 and was also Chair of their 1996 National Roundtable.In 1999, Ms. Shelton was appointed Chevalier of Frances Order of Arts and Letters for her contribution to furthering the arts. In 2004, she received the Documents of Dance Award from the Dance Library of Israel honoring her contributions to the New York dance community. In the spring of 2006, she was honored at the inaugural event of Doug Varones 20th Anniversary season with a special tribute performance.Ms. Shelton has taught at Marymount Manhattan College and in the graduate program of Arts Administration at New York University. She has also served on panels for the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the National Endowment for the Arts, the New England Foundation for the Arts National Dance Project and American Masters: Dance.
Joe Pezzimenti is a director and member of Standard & Poor�s U.S. Public Finance Infrastructure Group. He is based in Standard & Poor�s New York office, where he has worked as a U.S. Public Finance analyst since 2001, when he joined Standard & Poor�s. Joe primarily conducts credit analysis and follows ratings for transportation infrastructure-related credits that primarily include airports, toll facilities, ports, and some parking facilities and mass transit agencies as well as federal highway grant-backed transactions. Joe also works on water and wastewater credits and follow some non-recourse projects not related to the transportation sector. Prior to joining Standard & Poor�s Joe received an MBA from New York University�s Leonard N. Stern School of Business. Joe also holds a BS in Computer Science, which he received from the University of Southern California.
Tom Rousakis is Co-Head of Transportation and Project Finance in Goldman Sachs' Public Sector and Infrastructure Finance Group. Over the past 15 years, Mr. Rousakis has served as lead banker to a variety of highway, transit, airport and seaport issuers nationwide, and has advised public agencies on some of the largest and most complex transportation P3 projects to-date, such as Denver RTD's Eagle P3 Commuter Rail project and the Texas Department of Transportation's CDA program. Mr. Rousakis also advises and arranges debt financings for private bidders on P3 projects.Mr. Rousakis is a nationally recognized expert in transportation finance, having served as lead banker to public surface transportation entities such as the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Ohio Department of Transportation, New Mexico Department of Transportation, Oregon Department of Transportation, Mississippi Department of Transportation, Washington Department of Transportation, the New York State Thruway Authority, the Bay Area Toll Authority, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, Denver RTD, Washington Metro, Houston Metro, Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, Sound Transit, and Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Seaport and airport clients have included the Port of Charleston, San Francisco International Airport, Dallas-Ft. Worth International Airport, Manchester (NH) Airport and T.F. Green (Providence) Airport. Mr. Rousakis also served as lead banker to the Louisville Arena Authority on its innovative arena project financing in 2008.Mr. Rousakis received a Bachelor's degree, with honors, from Harvard College and a Master's in Public Policy from Harvard's John F. Saul Rosenbaum is a Managing Director in Pragers San Francisco-based headquarters where he is responsible for managing the activities of the Firms investment banking unit. Saul devotes his efforts to addressing the investment banking requirements of a wide variety of governmental and not-for-profit borrowers ranging from state authorities to public and private colleges and universities. He possesses extensive knowledge of credit, economic, business, political and legal factors influencing the issuance of debt obligations and frequently serves as a keynote speaker on topics relating to financing techniques for public and not-for-profit agencies. Prior to joining the Firm in 1994, Saul was a Vice President in the San Francisco Public Finance Group of Prudential Securities Incorporated for six years where he concentrated on not-for-profit, utility, land-secured, tax increment, transportation and lease-revenue financing in the western states. And prior to joining Prudential Securities, Mr. Rosenbaum was a Consultant in the Municipal Finance Consulting Division of Ernst & Young for three years. Saul is a FINRA Registered Representative and General Securities Principal. He is a graduateof the University of Arizona.
Mr. Corso joined the firm in 1994, establishing the company's asset management platform and building it into one of the largest fixed income managers in the world. With a staff of 123 people, Mr. Corso now oversees the investment of more than $39 billion in assets and directs the investment strategies of Cutwater's clients, including pension funds, global banks, corporations, Taft Hartley and insurance companies as well as over 900 municipalities across the United States. Mr. Corso also initiated and managed the expansion of the asset manager's international asset management business from a principal office in London, now a multi billion dollar platform. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Corso served as co-head of a fixed income division at Alliance Capital Management. In his twenty five-year career, he has held positions as a credit analyst, restructuring specialist, trader and portfolio manager. He has managed a wide range of fixed income products, including corporate, asset-backed, government, mortgage, municipal, credit default swap and derivative securities. He has developed several unique conduit businesses including East-Fleet, a London based vehicle serving several global banks. He was also an early pioneer in the credit derivatives market, developing several investment programs starting in 2000, and expanding this area to create the MINTS funds, one of the most successful CDS funds ever created with over $1.6 billion in notional value under management.Mr. Corso began his career in banking positions as an analyst, lender and trader, and has led several notable and large debt restructurings. His analytical skills combine mathematics, game theory, economics, psychology and investment theory.Mr. Corso graduated from Yale University with a degree in economics and earned an MBA from Columbia University. He has lectured on topics from leadership to finance at many academic institutions, including Columbia University and New York University, where he taught a course on financial derivatives. He currently holds Series 7, 24, and 63 licenses from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and is a member of the Fixed Income Analysts Society, Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) and the Investment Management Executive Council. Mr. Corso also serves on the Board of Directors of the MBIA Foundation, a not-for-profit charity.
Stephen P. Merz is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Woodruff Arts Center, Inc. He was appointed to that position in the fall 2001. Prior to that, he held the positions of EVP for Finance and Operations from 1991 to 2001 and VP of Finance from 1981 to 1991. During his thirty year tenure at the Center, Mr. Merz has managed on behalf of the Center all of the physical expansions taking the campus from one building to now eight facilities. Mr. Merz leads the investment management process and was instrumental in revamping management of the Centers endowment assets by implementing policies which provided more diversification, more professional outside managers and a comprehensive spending policy. As a result, the Centers investment returns consistently rank in the top quartile of similarly sized endowments. Prior to joining the Arts Center, Mr. Merz was a Manager with the accounting firm of Deloitte and Touche. While a member of the audit team at Deloitte, he specialized in audits of financial institutions and not-for-profit social organizations. He graduated from Kent State University in 1972 with a BBA and from Emory University in 1981 with an MBA. He is a member of Beta Alpha Psi, the national honors business organization and the International Honor Society, Beta Gamma Sigma. Mr. Merz is also a CPA licensed in the State of Ohio. He is a Registered Investment Advisor. In 2006, Mr. Merz started GarlandMerz Consulting LLC. GarlandMerz provides investment consulting and management to small and mid-sized endowments and foundations. The objective of the enterprise is to provide professional expertise to endowments and foundations who heretofore believed such expertise was not available or affordable.
Roy Kienitz currently serves as the Under Secretary of Transportation for Policy at the United States Department of Transportation. He was sworn in as Under Secretary in May 2009. In this capacity, Mr. Kienitz assists the Secretary in formulating national policies affecting surface transportation and aviation. As mentioned in his confirmation hearing, Under Secretary Kienitz shares Secretary LaHoods goals of making safety, livability, sustainability, and economic recovery the primary objectives of the Department. Mr. Kienitz joins DOT with diverse transportation policy experience. He has worked for non-profit organizations and has held both state and federal government positions. Prior to his appointment to the Department of Transportation, Mr. Kienitz served as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Governor Edward Rendell. Beginning in 2003, he was a leader on the Governors staff for transportation, alternative energy, and environment initiatives, and directed a number of major capital projects including the Pennsylvania Convention Center expansion, Pittsburgh sports arena and the Port of Philadelphia. Previously, Mr. Kienitz served as Secretary of the Maryland Department of Planning where he implemented the states Smart Growth policies, and promoted mixed-use transit-oriented projects. He was a strong advocate for innovation in transportation while serving as the Executive Director to the Surface Transportation Policy Project; and gained significant legislative branch experience while working for Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan as Chief of Staff and for the U.S. Senate Environment & Public Works Committee. Mr. Kienitz has received various awards including the Special Recognition Award from the National Park Service, U.S. Department of Interior for work promoting new transportation strategies for National Parks. Originally from California, Kienitz earned his bachelors degree in Aquatic Biology from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1983.
