Dan currently co-heads the firms national public power group, and works exclusively with utility clients throughout the country. Dan has served as a financial advisor or senior managing underwriter to many of the largest public power and water utilities throughout the United States. These clients have included, among others, the Southern California Public Power Authority, Sacramento Municipal Utilities District, the Orlando Utilities Commission, Anaheim Public Utilities, Riverside Public Utilities, the Imperial Irrigation District, the Northern California Power Agency, and the Transmission Agency of Northern California. For these clients, Dan has been directly involved in the issuance of over $30 billion of utility bonds and has worked on some of the largest and most complex electric and water transactions ever brought to the municipal market. Much of the recent utility finance work has been related to the development of renewable projects, including the use of innovative financing techniques and public/private partnerships.As part of Dans client engagements, he has managed the development of complex financing plans for large capital programs, led educational workshops with Boards and elected officials, devised and implemented rating strategies for new and existing credits, evaluated and implemented derivative product applications, and led pricing efforts for bonds and interest rate swaps. Parker Colvin is Managing Director and head of underwriting for Stone & Youngberg. He is the firm's head underwriter both for negotiated and competitive underwriting. In this role, he makes commitments for the firm on nearly 200 new issues totaling more than $3.5 billion each year and has priced more California transactions than any other underwriter over the last five years. Mr. Colvin is a former President of the San Francisco Municipal Bond Club. Mr. Colvin received a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Wheaton College.
Daniel Deaton is a finance and securities attorney who has represented corporate and governmental clients in a wide variety of transactions. Mr. Deaton has represented corporate clients in several different types of transactions such as public and private securities offerings; mergers, acquisitions, international joint ventures, and joint ventures relating to the development of technology; corporate and partnership governance issues; and residential mortgage securitizations. Mr. Deaton has represented governmental clients such as cities, counties, and redevelopment agencies as disclosure counsel and bond counsel in lease revenue, enterprise fund, pension obligation bond, tax revenue anticipation, Teeter, and tax increment financings. In addition, he has acted as bond counsel and underwriter’s counsel in 501(c)(3) and private activity bond financings, including financings supporting electric power grid, waste management, and water utility operations. Mr. Deaton was admitted to practice in California in 2004 and in Texas in 1998. He is a graduate of Southern Methodist University, J.D. and University of California at Irvine, B.A.

Mr. Greers practice also includes representation of companies, Special Litigation Committees and individuals in corporate governance disputes. He has conducted a number of internal investigations on behalf of boards of directors of both public and private companies. His experience in the energy arena includes the representation of the Bonneville Power Administration in an arbitration involving more than a billion dollars in claimed damages.
